Japan Festival 2026
Japan Fest 26 will showcase the richness of Japanese culture through traditional and contemporary performances, cultural exhibits, culinary experiences, and a multitude of interactive activities. The exposure to Japanese culture, cuisine and art will create deeper awareness, appreciation and understanding of Japan and further strengthen U.S.-Japan friendship, bonds, and business at the local level.
Japan Fest celebrated its 40th anniversary last year in its first attempt to host the event in Skokie, drawing strong community participation and enthusiastic support. Building on this momentum, we are delighted to announce that the Village of Skokie has approved a two-day event this year, which we believe will provide more visitors from across the Chicago area and beyond with opportunities to experience and enjoy Japanese culture and food.
We are also honored that the Consulate-General of Japan in Chicago has pledged its support, with Consul-General Masashi Mizobuchi serving as Honorary Chairman of this year’s festival.
